Silichy blames weather for price increase

The prices in Silichy incraesed on January 1, 2015. The cost of the most popular pass (2 hours on weekdays) has increased most of all. The price has gone up by 30% and the pass costs Br140 thousand now, Komsomolskaya Pravda reports.

The Council of Ministers forbade increasing the prices on December 19. One of dissatisfied visitors of Silichy lodged a complaint to the President’s Administration and asked to explain the price increase in the skiing centre. He received an official reply from Silichy two weeks later. The price increase was explained by warm weather.

The previous prices were in force until December 31. They helped cover the expenses at that time. However, the warm winter has made the centre administration increase the prices due to the growing expenses on energy and fuel.

By the way, the prices did not go up in the other Belarusian skiing centre. However, not all of them are functioning as intended. Vesta situated near Dzyarzhynsk started working but the snow disappeared. The state centre Karobchytsy near Hrodna has not even started working so far: there is not enough snow.
