Sidorski is not satisfied with preparation for hockey championship-2014
The Belarusian Prime Minister Syarhei Sidorski has expressed dissatisfaction with the preparation for the World Hockey Championsip-2014 that will take place in Minsk. BelTA informs that he expressed his attitude at a meeting of the steering committee for organization of the international forum. The PM advanced his remark to the Ministry of Sport and Tourism that, in his opinion, does not provide the necessary information support for the future tournament. In particular, the head of the government remarked that there was a countdown of days remaining before the Olympcis-2010 in Vancouver on the Ministry’s website and it was not mentioned how many days remained before the world hockey championship in Belarus.
Sidorski also noted that investors were not actively involved in the creation of the championship’s infrastructure. He was dissatisfied with the fact that the mascot of the world championship had not been chosen. The Minister of Sport Aleh Kachan explained it by the low activity of the population and enterprises the national hockey federation had announced a contest for. The contest has been prolonged because there are not many good variants at the moment. The Minister of Sport and Tourism has promised that the mascot will be officially confirmed by July 1, 2010.
