Sidorski invited to attend Lithuania's 1000th anniversary celebrations

Lithuanian PM Andrjus Kubiljus has officialled invited his Belarus counterpart Siarhei Sidorski to take part in the celebrations of Lithuania's 1000th anniversary. Festivities will be held on July 6, 2009 in Vilnius, reports Interfax. The Queen of Denmark Margrette II, the King of Norway Harold V and Queen Silvia are also expected to arrive. The list of VIP guests also includes the presidents of Latvia, Poland, Ukraine and Finland. European Commission President Jose Manuel Barroso will also arrive in Vilnius.

On July 6, Lithuania marks the Day of the State or the day when King Mindovg was coronated. There is a version that Mindovg was coronated on Navagrudak, the town which is currently located in the Hrodna region of Belarus.
