Shushkevich not to attend funeral of Lech Kaczyński

However, the former head of the Supreme Council Stanislau Shushkevich was on friendly terms with Lech Kaczyński. He has claimed it in an interview with ERB. Stanislau Shushkevich: “It is not a good idea to visit graves with a delegation. This is a Soviet method, I don’t like it. I have to be there but I feel that I will only a face in the crowd. That is why I am not likely to go”.

However, the politician says that it does not mean he is not going to commemorate the person he respected so much.

Stanislau Shushkevich: “I just think that I have to do it on my own. My debt is to visit the places we were at and lay flowers on his grave. This is my sacred trust and I will fulfill it”.

As ERB has already informed, the BNF party is going to send democratic representatives to the funeral of Lech Kaczyński  in Krakow on March 18. However, according to Stanislau Shushkevich, nobody has offered him to join the delegation.
