Serena gets Azarenka in Wimbledon quarterfinals
The Belarusian tennis player has easily defeated Swiss Belinda Bencic.
Victoria Azarenka has made it to Wimbledon quarterfinals. The best Belarusian tennis player defeated Swiss Belinda Bencic (World No. 22) in two sets – 6:2, 6:3. Now the Belarusian will compete with World No. 1 Serena Williams for the third time this year.
Victoria Azarenka defeated Estonian Anett Kontaveit (145) in the first round— 6:2, 6:1, Kirsten Flipkens of Belgium (96) in the second round – 6:3, 6:3 and French player of Serbian ancestry Kristina Mladenovic (38) in the third round – 6:4, 6:4.
One more Belarusian player, Volha Havarstova, has dropped out of Wimbledon. She was defeated by American Madison Keys in three sets in the 1/8 final – 6:3, 4:6, 1:6.
