Scandal in Belarusian football, Kapski demands investigation

Anatol Kapski has reacted to the scandalous interview given by Shahtsyor goalkeeper Yury Tsyhalka to goals.by. The football player recalled the end of Belarus Cup-2006. Brest and Minsk Dynama played in the last tour.

"BATE needed Dynama Minsk to lose points,” goals.by quotes the ex-goalkeeper of Dynama Brest Yury Tsyhalka. “People from Barysau arrived before the match. They stimulated us. Probably, they did not believe that we were able to leave Dynama Minsk without points so they did not tell us the sum. They just said: ‘Guys, be sure that we will thank you’. The final score was 0:0. BATE became the champion. They gave us the promised money after the match. It was about $200 per person.”

Anatol Kapski called Tsyhalka’s interview “a sad event” in BATE’s and his own fate. “Our club has been accused of serious violations,” Kapski said. He urged the Belarusian Football Federation to investigate the case and “either refute or prove Yury Tsyhanka’s words.”

“The club’s reputation has suffered a major hit,” the FC BATE head noted. If “the fact of stimulation” is proved, the people who were connected with it “should not be allowed in football.”
