Sale contract of “Beltransgaz”’s shares is signed

The Belarusian State Committee on property and “Gazprom” have signed a sale contract on purchase of “Beltransgaz”’s shares.
According to the contract, the Russian company buys 50% of the Belarusian enterprise’s shares for 2.5 billion USD. The payment will be given in equal parts in four stages during 2007-2010. “Gazprom” will be buying 12.5% of “Beltransgaz”’s shares each time.

This morning it was still doubtful that the document could be signed today.  According to the press-service of the Belarusian Council of Ministers, it was connected with the fact that it is necessary to settle down one “point at issue”.

There were no details of the problem announced. In connection with it the head of “Gazprom” Aleksey Miller did not come to Minsk. His delegate deputy Valerii Golubev arrived instead of him.
