Russian Ministry of Defense presents secret documents to Belarus

The Russian Ministry of Defense has shared documents dating back to World War II with Belarusian war historians. The documents were labeled “secret” and used to be kept in Russian archives. 345 documents including secret orders about conducting operations on the territory of Belarus will be published as one book in June. The documents are dedicated to secret and failed operations of the Soviet army. In particular, you can find out that Soviet troops made 11 failed attempts of taking Vitsebsk Region away from Germans in 1943.
