Russia talks about currency union with Belarus and Kazakhstan

Russia does not exclude the possibility of creation of a currency union with the Customs Union and EurAsEC member states. The vice Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Igor Shuvalov has informed about it at a forum of CIS member states. He reminded that Russia was working on an economic association within the Customs Union of Russia, Belarus and Kazakhstan, reports “Interfax”.

According to Shuvalov, the borders of the area will be increasing in the course of time and that they are talking about the creation of a Eurasian economic union. The official noted that Russia would be guided by the harmonization of the legislation with the laws of the European Union while trying to create the economic association.
