RNU threatens with violence for monument to shot Vitsebsk Jews (photo)

A Vitsebsk civil activist Barys Hamaida and an editor-in-chief of an independent newspaper “Courier from Vitsebsk” Uladzimir Bazan have received letters from an unregistered organization RNU again.
The authors of the letters threaten them with “violence” if the independent newspaper does not oppose to the installation of a monument in memory of Jews shot in Vitsebsk ghetto during World War II.

They promise to punish Bazan and Hamaida referring to some ties with the local authorities.

Barys Hamaida is going to turn to the Regional Office of Public Prosecutor. Uladzimir Bazan has not decided if it is worth asking the police for help.

It is not the first time letters containing threats from RNU have been sent to Vitsebsk activists but neither the police nor the Office of Public Prosecutor tried to find those who are threatening Belarusian citizens on behalf of a Russian neo-fascist organization.
