Repressed Belarusians commemorated in Kurapaty

Repressed Belarusians were commemorated by community representatives in Kurapaty tract not far from Minsk yesterday. Vyachaslau Sіuchyk, Uladzіmіr Ramanouskі, Іhar Kuznyatsou, Ales Makayeu and Artur Fіnkevіch were among the present. Radio Liberty reports that the action started near the temporary cross installed in memory of participants of Stutsk armed revolt last year.

According to Uladzimir Ramanouski, the great Cross of Euphrosinia of Polatsk will be installed in Kurapaty in memory of Slutsk rebels in spring.

Representatives of the society sent a letter to the President’s Administration and to the Council of Ministers and asked to add Kurapaty on the list of world cultural and natural legacy of UNESCO.
