Reports: IT company bosses detained in Minsk

The administration of one of the oldest Belarusian IT companies IBA Group has attracted the attention of the Investigation Committee. Head of the board of directors of IBA Group and IBA Minsk CEO Syarhei Lyautseyeu and senior deputy head of the broad of directors of IBA Group and IBA IT Park CEO Syarhei Akulich have been arrested, tut.by reports.  

Akulich was detained about a week ago, unofficial sources report. It is not clear whether Lyautseyeu is arrested. The Investigation Committee is said to be in charge of the case. They are suspected of tax evasion.

Akulich is on a sick leave and Lyautseyeu is on vacation, the press service of the company reports. KGB and the Investigation Committee are not commenting on the information.

Security officials could get interested in the IT company after the recent arrest of Belarusbank top managers, tut.by sources noted. Belarusbank CEO Anatol Bahovik and director general of the Bank Processing Centre Henadz Zubarau were arrested.

 

IBA has been rendering technical and programme support to Belarusbank for many years.
