Yury Zaharanka disappeared 13 years ago
A group of strangers abducted the general in Minsk on May 7, 1999.
According to unofficial information, 47-year-old Yury Zaharanka, ex-Minister of Internal Affairs and an opposition leader, became a victim of “the death squadron”.
Zaharanka’s family received political asylum in Germany in 2000. International human rights organizations have demanded many times that the Belarusian authorities should investigate the politician’s abduction.
By the way, the investigation of Yury Zaharanka’s abduction was prolonged again for three months in January. The Investigation Committee is in charge of the investigation.
