World Radio Day marked today
It was adopted by UNESCO and dated for the anniversary of establishment of United Nations Radio on February 13, 1946.
According to the press service of the United Nations, more than 75% of families have at least one radio set. Free and independent radio is crucial for the society and is a requirement for the observation of human rights and basic liberties.
UNESCO has urged radio stations all over the world to join the celebration of the World Radio Day that will be celebrated for the first time this year.
