Street renaming commission did not rename Minsk ring road

Minsk ring road (MKAD) was given to the city administration and renamed to Minsk street of uninterrupted driving in February. The new Russian abbreviation "MUND" arose a lot of mocking on the Internet. The name of the street should not be abbreviated, linguist Ihar Kapulou said.

Meanwhile, the commission was not asked to consider the renaming of Minsk ring road. MKAD was a technical name, Ihar Satsukevich said. The new name is not the name of a street either:

Satsukevich: "We haven't been asked about Minsk ring road. When a street is renamed, people's addresses change. But Minsk ring road is not an ordinary street."

There are no buildings except for fillings stations in Minsk ring road, the expert added.
