Statkevich writes letter with scandalous Square details

"The things have calmed down, no political campaigns are being planned and we can discuss those events. And they are worth discussing, especially the behaviour of "the most Christian candidate". He informed against me thrice (before the election), he also informed against Dzima Us and the other Square participants (during the investigation)," Mikalai Statkevich wrote.

His letter has been published on the website statkevich.org and is dated January 2. 2013. The remark about "the most Christian candidate" is the sharpest. Vital Rymasheuski, co-leader of the Belarusian Christian Democracy, seems to suit the description better than the other participants of the 2010 election.

Rymasheuski has refuted any connection with tip-offs in an interview with Euroradio. Mikalai Statkevich may lack information and his letters may be censored, the politician thinks.

Rymasheuski: "Mikalai Statkevich's letters should be called in question as they are being censored. There are many obstacles on their way to us. It will be possible to judge what information can reach Statkevich and what he knows only after he is released. Then it will be possible to discuss it."

Mikalai Statkevich (like Vital Rymasheuski) was arrested after the Square-2010. He was returned guilty of organization of mass riots and sentenced to 6 years of imprisonment in a top-security colony in spring 2011.
