Situation with Julia Tymoshenko to be discussed in Brussels today
The meeting of foreign ministers of the 27 EU states will take place there.
The situation with Ukraine's ex-PM Julia
Tymoshenko will become one of the key issues for discussion. Let us remind you,
last year she was sentenced to 7 years of imprisonment for "exceeding the
powers" when making a gas contract with Russia. The EU and the U.S.
consider her case politically motivated. Recently, Tymoshenko was beaten in
prison. President of Lithuania Dalia
Grybauskaitė (in the photo) visited her in the hospital in Kharkiv and warned
the Ukrainian authorities about the possible isolation of Ukraine because of
Tymoshenko's case.
RIA Novosti does not exclude that they will discuss
the common approach to the boycott of the Euro-2012 games which will take place
in Ukraine by the EU states in Brussels today.
