September 16 - anniversary of disappearance of Krasouski and Hanchar
Opposition politician Victar Hanchar and businessman Anatol Krasouski disappeared with no traces on this very day in 1999 in Minsk.
Later, chips of glass from Anatol Krasouski's car, and blood of the disappeared were found at the supposed place of disappearance - Fabrychnaya Street. In December 2002, the court officially considered Victar Hanchar missing. In January 2003 Minsk city prosecutor's office officially suspended investigation of the criminal case started upon the fact of disappearance of these two well-known persons.
According to former head of the pre-trial detention center No. 1 Aleh Alkaeu, Victar Hanchar was kidnapped and shot under the order of persons close to Alyaksandr Lukashenka. The Belarusian opposition still demands to investigate disappearance of Hanchar and Krasouski. The same demand presents in the documents of international organizations.
