Russian authorities struggle with opposition street actions by big fines

The maximum fine for citizens has been increased to 300 thousand roubles (up to 10 thousand dollars!), for officials - to 600 thousand Russian roubles.

According to the information provided by RIA Novosti, the fine will be taken for breaking the legislation on gatherings, manifestations, demonstrations, rallies and pickets.

The experts have already expressed their opinion that this law may become "the restrictive factor for the groups with radical moods".

Let us remind you, street actions of the opposition which protests against Vladimir Putin's return to power and demands new fair election and release of political prisoners continue in Moscow and other Russian cities. The next mass action is appointed for June 12.
