Radosław Sikorski thinks EU should not boycott Lukashenka

Sikorski thinks that the Belarusian leader should be encouraged if he does something positive and punished for contradicting the European values.

According to BelaPAN, journalists asked him if the united Europe could exercise any influence on the Belarusian government. The Polish Minister replied that Belarusians themselves had more influence on the situation in the country. At the same time, Sikorski thinks that the Belarusian regime is still able to change and to become more democratic. According to him, Lukashenka is still able to follow Jaruzelski’s way – he lives in his country and was visited by Lech Wałęsa in hospital the other day.
Sikorski also said that the Polish Foreign Office was going to summon the Belarusian Ambassador on October 10 to express a strong protest. Тhe reason for it is Alyaksandr Lukashenka’s statement made on Friday. Let us remind you that our state leader told to journalists that Poland wanted to expand its territory at the expense of Western Belarus.
