Poland's Seym discusses mailing bills to Belarusian opposition activists
It happened at the session on November 21.
Euroradio reminds, Poland's MFA mailed financial documents to the Belarusian opposition members. Opposition parties PiS, SLD and "Ruch Palikota" expressed their concern in this regard, writes Gazeta Wyborcza.
Deputy Foreign Minister
Katarzyna Pełczyńska-Nałęcz explained that the documents had been sent so
openly because the Belarusian authorities knew about this journey of the
Belarusian oppositionists anyway. The MFA is not going to look for someone to
blame for this incident.
Representative of the party "SLD" Tadeusz Iwiński noted that the MFA
was short-sighted at the least and had not learned the lesson of Ales
Byalyatski's case.
In October 2012, a number of Belarusian oppositionists received financial
documents from Poland via mail. The documents were sent to the participants of
the Civil Society Conference, organized during the Eastern Partnership Summit
in 2011. The documents reflected small sums, the so-called "daily
wages", paid to the Belarusians.
