Petition in support of Ales Byalyatski filed to Presidential Administration

The action went with no incidents, informs BelaPAN. The petition in support of Vice-President of the International Human Rights Federation, head of the center "Vyasna" Ales Byalyatski was signed by Chairman of the Belarusian Helsinki Committee Aleh Hulak, Byalyatski's colleague in "Vyasna" Tatsyana Ravyaka, leader of the movement "For Freedom!" Alyaksandr Milinkevich, deputy head of the "Belarusian Association of Journalists" Andrei Bastunets and a number of other civil activists. 

The essence of the petition lies in the demand to release Ales Byalyatski and other prisoners of conscience immediately and unconditionally. The authors of the document demand to stop pressure and harassment of the civil society activists, and to bring the Belarusian legislation into correspondence with the international standards in the field of human rights.
