Parliamentary election to take place in April 2012?
It will be an early election. According to the law, the election should take place next October.
The Russian newspaper “Kommersant” informs about it referring to a source in the House of Representatives. It is said that the early election will be held to avoid the pressure exercised by the West that demands that the official Minsk should make the Election Code more democratic.
Independent experts think that the Belarusian authorities will augment the current political isolation if the election date is changed.
The Central Election Committee refutes the information about the early election.
