Norway joins expanded sanctions against Belarus
Norway supported the EU's decision to expand sanctions against the Belarusian officials.
The country's Foreign Minister Jonas Gahr Støre has stated this.
"Court verdicts with regard to the leading opposition politicians and those who participated in the demonstration after the presidential election, are a step in the wrong direction ", — the Foreign Minister thinks.
Let us remind you, the European Union has decided to expand the "black list of banned officials" and to add 13 people to it. Norway also expands limitations against Belarus, which are, in particular, travel restrictions and freezing financial actives.
"I hope that these measures against the Belarusian authorities will be cancelled soon, not expanded. But this depends on the actions of the Belarusian authorities", — says the Norwegian official.
