Lukashenka: Stop free pricing! (video)

Results of Belarus' social and economic development in 2012 and future goals were discussed at the meeting.

"I demand to stop the free pricing. There is no need for it. The government and the National Bank should control the pricing more actively," Lukashenka stressed.

Lukashenka drew officials' attention to the fact that this year's inflation was making people worry.  He addressed PM Mihail Myasnikovich and head of the National Bank Nadzeya Yermakova and stressed that "the strengthening of macroeconomic stability" depended on it.

"The Belarusian rouble has devalued by 2.9 times since the beginning of 2011," BelTA reports quoting Lukashenka. " The consumer prices have increased by 2.6 times. Products cost 3 times more and other services - 2.5 times more. Are you trying to catch up with the devaluation rate and overtake it?"

The inflation should be curbed, Lukashenka stressed. Otherwise, it would cause problems in the consumer market and complicate our economy modernization process.
