Lithuanian Embassy grants a visa to a banned official

We are speaking about Deputy Minister of Justice Ala Bodak, who was stopped at the Lithuanian border several days ago, informs the portal DELFI. The official is in the European Union's "black list".

According to frontier guards, officials in the Lithuanian Embassy should have checked everything when they granted a visa, and they had the database of unwanted persons. The Belarusian official's visa was cancelled at the Lithuanian border. Lithuanian MFA promises to declare their official position with regard to the visa given to Bodak, later.

Let us remind you, Lithuanian officials passed the information about human rights defender Ales Byalyatski's bank accounts to Belarus. He was arrested and accused of tax evasion in big scope. Byalyatski faces up to 7 years of imprisonment. His allies say that the money was spent on human rights defense activity.

It turned out on Thursday, that not only Lithuania had disclosed the information about Byalyatski's bank accounts, but Poland and the Czech Republic as well.
