Kastusyou invited to court trial 3 hours before it started
The politician got a phone call from the court at 7.58 a.m. - they warned him that the trial started at 11.
Let us remind you, the BPF party filed a complaint to Minsk city court about non-including of 7 party members in the district election commissions in Minsk. The consideration of this complaint was appointed on July 13, 11 a.m. The court's employees notified the party's Vice-Chairman Ryhor Kastusyou about it this morning.
Kastusyou: "They called me today at 7.58 and invited me to the trial at 11. However, I have my own life, I have responsibility for some other affairs! So I asked them "What do you think you are doing - the trial is today, and call me with an invitation just now? We asked you to call us beforehand!" And they replied: "We are obliged to consider it within three days. We appointed it today. If you want to come - please come, this is up to you".
The party's seym appointed Kastusyou to defend the BPF's interests regarding this complaint in court. Other party members can attend the trial but only as "viewers". Kastusyou is on a business trip now and cannot possible return to Minsk by 11.
According to him, he addressed to human rights defenders on an urgent basis so that they attend the trial and give their qualified estimation to all procedural components in the future. Kastusyou hasn't told whether they will pursue the case further if today's decision does not satisfy them - he says it will be decided after the verdict is pronounced.
