Euro turns 10
The single European currency appeared 10 years ago.
Euro bank-notes and coins were introduced on January 1, 2002. The new currency became the single currency of a series European Union's countries, which make the Eurozone together.
Appearance of the euro has summarized long-term efforts of the EU countries to bring their national financial systems closer together. However, the currency faced great difficulties which caused talks on its abolishment.
