Customs to burn "Belarus Press Photo 2011" albums (document)
Such conclusion can be made after reading the official letter of Ashmyany customs Deputy Head Danilevich.
The letter
is sent to Belarusian photographer Alyaksandr Vasyukovich, from whom they
confiscated 41 copies of the photo album on November 12. Vasyukovich has told
about the contents of the letter in a comment to Euroradio:
Vasyukovich:
"These were the remaining
albums which we carried around at festivals, our exhibitions and other events.
When we were transporting them, the customs got interested and decided to leave
them for a while to make an expertise. Today I received a letter that they do
not correspond with the data output standard and will be destroyed".
The album was published officially and brought to Belarus a year ago. Vasyukovich
has not decided yet whether he will claim the decision of the customs services.
