Belarusian football team to play at Olympics!

The 3rd place game, the winner of which would receive a pass to the Olympics in London took place at the U-21 football championship in Denmark. Belarus played against the Czech Republic. Both teams had lost in the semi-finals and secured bronze medals.

Our team managed to recover after a hard game with Spain and played with good tactics. The game will be remembered for numerous fauls. Belarusians warned in the first half: Veratsila (26th minute), Varankou (45), in the second half - Skavysh (60) and Hutar (90+1). Czech Vacha was warned at the 31st minute of the game. At the 75th minute he was sent off after the second yellow card (hand play in the Belarus' penalty area). Kozak and Hetsau were shown yellow cards at the 78th and 82nd minutes correspondingly.

The Czechs attacked more in the first half, and the Belarusians - in the second. Our team started creating dangerous moments but could not realise them, until Yahor Filipenka scored such an important goal in the end. Belarusian football team will play at the Olympics for the first time!

U-21 (Olympic) Belarusian National team will return to Belarus on Sunday, June 26. Flight from Frankfurt arrives to Minsk-2 airport at 18.05.
