Akrestsina detention center closed for reconstruction since October 1
This is the famous detention center located at Akrestsina Street, 36.
The prison administration refused to
comment on these news the internet-newspaper "Belarusian
News" . However, it is known that the project for
overall reconstruction of the detention center was elaborated back in December
2011. As a result of the reconstruction there will be new interior in the
cells, the ventilation system and the window glass units.
Administrative
detainees will serve their sentences in the pre-trial detention center which is
located in the neighbouring building.
Euroradio reminds
that HR defenders and civil activists filed numerous complaints about the
confinement conditions in the Akrestsina Street detention center.
