Refrigerators and monitors to be exempt from customs duty

As ERB has found out, the custom house has prepared good news for us alongside with the decrease of the allowed sum of free imports from 1000 to 200 euro.
Part of goods we had to pay the customs duty for may be allowed to be transported for free. The acting head of Homel custom house Rastsislau Kuznyatsou has informed ERB about it.

Rastsislau Kuznyatsou: “They are going to remove amendment #2 from presidential decree #503 “On crossing state border by physical entities”. According to the decree, customs duty has to be paid for building materials, monitors, washing machines and refrigerators. However, the final decision has not been taken yet”.

According to him, if the President signs suggestions of the State Border Committee concerning the decrease of the allowed sum of free imports from 1000 to 200 euro, some customs duties will probably be cancelled too. The document is being considered by the President’s Administration now.

The current customs duty is:
1. building materials — 4 euro for 1 kilo
2. gas-stoves — 50 euro each
3. deep-freezers — 50 euro each
4. refrigerators — 40 euro each
5. freezers up to 250 litres and up to 900 litres — 40 and 80 euro each
6. washing machines up to 6, 10, 15 kilos – 50, 60 and 110 euro each
7. PC monitors 15, 17 and 19 inches— 50, 80 and 110 euro each
