Recognition of Abkhazia still off agenda

The House of Representatives of the Belarusian National Assembly may consider the issue of recognizing Abkhazia and South Ossetia during its fall session, which begins on October 2, BelaPAN quoted Syarhey Maskevich, chairman of the House’s International Affairs Committee, as saying.

However, the issue was not placed on the draft agenda of the session that was approved by the Council of the House of Representatives on Tuesday.

“I don’t think that one should draw conclusions from this as to whether or not the issue will be considered, as it can be placed on the agenda during the course of the session,” Maskevich said.
