Putin suggests amnestying Pussy Riot and Greenpeace activists

Russian President Vladimir Putin has presented an amnesty project in honor of the 20th anniversary of the Constitution to the State Duma. Seven participants of Bolotnaya Square protests who did not resist the police, Pussy Riot members Nadezhda Tolokonnikova and Maria Alyokhina and Greenpeace activists detained on board the ship Arctic Sunrise may be amnestied. About 25 thousand people are going to be amnestied, RBK reports.

People who committed serious crimes, used or threatened to use violence or have already been amnestied before will not be amnestied.

Thus, opposition member Alexei Navalny and people involved in the Yukos case – Mikhail Khodorkovski and Platon Lebedev, will not be amnestied.
