Putin promises compensation for ‘missing’ soldiers

Amendments were made to the law that only allowed paying compensations to the relatives of soldiers who died during assembly.

"Monthly compensations will be paid to family members of soldiers who died or went missing during assembly or on duty,” the document published on the Kremlins’ website says.

The categories of soldiers whose families will have the right for the assistance will be denoted by the Russian government, BBC reports.

The amendments to the law will come into force on January 1, 2016. The Russian soldiers fighting in Donets Basin were summoned to an assembly in Rostov Oblast and sent to Ukraine from there, Ukrainian mass media and a number of Russian editions reported before.
