Putin calls Lukashenka to discuss food imports ban
Vladimir Putin informed Alyaksandr Lukashenka about the economic measures taken by Russia regarding products imported from countries that had imposed sanctions against Russian companies and citizens. It should be recalled that the ban also covers beef, pork, poultry, cheese and dairy products, sausages, fruits, vegetables and nuts. Putin expressed hope that Belarus would understand such steps "taken in the interests of Russia's economic security."
In turn, Lukashenka noted that "full transparency in the spirit of partnership relations will be ensured at the border," reported the press service of the Belarusian leader.
Alyaksandr Lukashenka and Vladimir Putin also discussed cooperation in the framework of the Eurasian Economic Union and its enlargement. It is reported that they "exchanged views on developments in the economy of Ukraine in connection with the its signing the Association Agreement with the European Union."
Russian President had a similar telephone conversation with the President of Kazakhstan.
