Presidential election in Khazakstan
There are four candidates to the position of the state leader.
The current President, Nursultan Nazarbayev, who is running for the position for the fourth time, representative of the Communist People’s Party of Kazakhstan Zhambyl Akhmetbekov, Senator Gani Kasymov and ecologist candidate Mels Yeleusizov.
Kasymov and Yeleusizov have already run for President. Kasymov rolled up a bit more than 4% of votes in 1999. Yeleusizov took part in the election in 2005 and rolled up less than 1% of votes.
Nursultan Nazarbayev has been the leader of Kazakhstan for more than 20 years. According to the official information, he rolled up more than 91% of votes at the previous election, report information agencies.
