President outlines legal framework for State Control Committee

The Belarusian president on November 27 signed his decree No 347, approving the Regulations on the State Control Committee.

According to the president's press office, the president exercises a genral control over the operation of the committee. Upon his approval, the State Control Committee is allowed to set up structures and approve their charters.


The State Control Committee "is responsible to ensure the country's economic security, to detect the systemic violations of the economic and taxation laws and to identify negative tendencies in economy and social security field, to exert control over the implementation of the measures against corruption in the state apparatus".

The committee is empowered to pass legal acts in the framework of its mandate.
