Popular Front leader set to resign

Lyavon Barshcheuski, the chairman of the Party of the Belarusian Popular Front, plans to quit his post. When and how a new leader is elected will be known on Saturday, January 17, during the meeting of the party's counci, reports newspaper Salidarnasc.
Barshcheuski announced his plans to resign for the first time during the previous congress. The politician plans to take a more active part in running for the position of a presidential candidate from the Belarusian Popular Front.

Barshcheuski declined a comment on this situation to the European Radio for Belarus.
