Popular Front to hold convention in September

The Belarusian Popular Front’s Soym (Council), at a meeting on May 16, set September 5 and 6 as the dates for the party’s convention.
Delegates to the event are expected to elect the party’s leaders and choose a candidate that will represent the BPF in the next presidential election.

BPF Chairman Lyavon Barshchewski said that he had not yet made up his mind on whether or not to stand for reelection at the convention. “My decision regarding my possible reelection as the party’s leader will be closely connected with how the matter of presidential candidate nomination is solved,”
BelaPAN quoted him as saying.
