Police says Free Theater venue "was mined"

The police in Minsk denounces media reports that it yesterday disrupted a Free Theater show that was taking place in a private house near the Bangalore Square in the Belarus capital.
The law-enforcement agency told Interfax that police agents went to the location after receiving a bomb alert on the phone.

However, it is not clear whether demolition experts were on the scene. In another development in Brest, police on August 19 broke into a venue where opposition politician Pavel Seviarynets was presenting his new book.

Police claimed that they had been tipped about "a hangout of gangsters" and threatened to use arms if the presentation participants would not open the door. Pavel Seviarynets was yesterday sentenced to 15 days of arrest.
