Brest police do not know what to do with detained activists of the republican civil association “Prospect”. The head of the organization Anatol Shumchanka and his deputies Victar Chaikouski and Volha Krumina were detained on the morning of May 5 when they were getting out of their car. BelaPAN informs that the activists of “Prospect” arrived in Brest to present an appeal of kiosk owners to the authorities. Entrepreneurs demand to cancel a decision of the regional executive committee. According to it, it is forbidden to sell beer and low-alcohol drinks in kiosks.

Policemen told Shumchanka that he resembled a wanted person. The detained were delivered to a local police office, their IDs were checked and they had to explain the reason for their arrival in Brest.

According to Shumchanka, policemen do not know what to do with the detained. They had been going to let them off but noticed a group of reporters near the police office and advised them to leave the city in their car. The administration of “Prospect” has refused to flee.
