Is placing flowers to graves an economic crime?

The leader of Vileika affiliate of the United Civil Party Uladzimir Malyarchuk sent an official inquiry to the local police and Office of Public Prosecutor. It concerns the actions of the police and fiscal agents during the ceremony of placing flowers to the burial place of victims of Stalinism in the village of Kasuta.

According to Uladzіmіr Malyarchuk, the head of the civil movement of remembrance of victims of Stalinism Yury Kuznyatsou, Uladzimir Kolas and Syarhey Zakonnikay visited Vileika on that day. The moved to Kasuta together with local democratic activists to place flowers to the cross installed there, light candles and pray.

The participants were accompanied by the police, members of the local and regional KGB affiliates and even by employees of the Department on prevention of economic crimes. All the time the procession was being filmed.
