In pictures: "History of Great Duchy of Lithuania" presented in Warsaw
The book authored by Doctor of Historical Sciences Ales Krautsevich was presented in Warsaw on September 19.
The "Belarusian National Memory" organized the meeting with the historian in the Palace of Science and Culture.
At the meeting, Krautsevich told about the history of establishment of the Great Duchy of Lithuania, about the grandness of it and the reasons for decline, about today's historical discourse and the arguments with the Lithuanian historians. The author considers the GDL as not just the history of the Belarusian land but as one of the important stages of the Belarusian statehood.
The first volume of the book was published this year in the framework of the book series "Hrodna Library". It covers the period of time since first appearance of the state till the beginning of its territorial growth at the times of Great Dukes Vicen and Hedymin. The whole turnover was sold out in three months.
In the end of the presentation, the participants marked the 22nd anniversary of the Belarusian Flan and Anthem Day by applause to Zyanon Paznyak and Valer Syadou, who participated in those events directly.
