Pickets in support of political prisoners forbidden in Hrodna. Organizers are warned

The organizers of pickets in support of Belarusian political prisoners that were to take place in Hrodna on November 25 have been invited to Departments of the Interior of different districts of the city. 
Appeals for pickets were sent by representatives of the Belarusian Helsinki Committee, Belarusian Communist Party and United Civil party. None of the actions was allowed. Our reporter Syarhei Apanovich comes up with more details:

“Major Hilko, the head of the civil security police, talked to activists in Leninski District Department of the Interior and explained them what the responsibility for disrupting the order was.”

The same nine people were summoned to Kastrychnitski District Department of the Interior two hours later. Lieutenant colonel Charnyak explained the guys that they should not go to forbidden actions. The talk took two hours.

According to one of the initiators of the pickets in support of political prisoners, a representative of the Belarusian Helsinki Committee Raman Urhel, the action in Hrodna will be conducted in another way.”
