Permit needed to enter Kiev governmental areas

Two guard posts have been placed in Grushevski Street and the police are refusing to allow people without IDs of employees of the Cabinet to pass, UNIAN reports. A pass is needed for it, a policeman told UNIAN. However, he did not explain what the decision to introduce the system was based on.

Meanwhile, Berkut put cordons around Maidan near European Square. Kreschatik is still blocked by trucks and buses. Several dozen soldiers in helmets and with shields are standing in the pavement. European Maidan activists offered them tea.

The situation at Maidan is calm despite the fact that the barricades in the governmental area were destroyed on the night of December 10. The camping still existed on the morning of December 10.

The metro stations Maidan Nezalezhnosti and Kreschatik have been closed again. The official reason is information about blasting assemblies.
