Participants of "Slavonic gay-pride" wait for trial in Akrestsina confinement cell

Detained participants of an unauthorized manifestation “Slavonic gay-pride 2010” that took place in Surhanau Street in the Belarusian capital yesterday are in the confinement cell in Akrestsina Street now. They will stand trials on Monday. BelaPAN informs that 8 people were detained during the action (according to other sources - 7) including two Russians. Four more people were detained later in a restaurant “for questioning”. They were photographed and fingerprinted in Soviet District Department of the Interior and let off three hours later without reports.

Let us remind you that about 30 people took part in the unauthorized action. “Slavonic gay-pride” marched a few dozen metres along Surhanau Street. Participants of the manifestation with a 12-metre rainbow flag scanned: “No to homophobia!”, “Equal rights without a compromise!”, “Homophobia is an illness!” They conducted a short meeting and tried to walk towards Botanical Street but got detained by special police troops.
