Panama Papers: 35 off-shores have Belarus connection

The International Consortium of Investigative Journalists (ICJ) on May 9 published new materials from the so called 'Panama Papers.'

The first portion of Panama Papers, released in early April, led to several political scandals in a number of countries. The invetigation was based on the documents leaked from the Panama-based law company Mossack Fonseca. The documents contained data about off-shore companies owned by citizens of various countries, including high-ranking officials from a variety of countries.

According to the new Panama Papers, 35 off-shore companies have connection to Belarus. The names of Belarus citizens were mentioned 98 times, yet some names were mentioned repeatedly. The documents also expose four intermediaries from Belarus and 87 addresses in Belarus linked with off-shores.
