OSCE tells Belarus to help NGOs that fight human trafficking

The OSCE Special Representative and Coordinator for Combating Human Trafficking, Eva Biaudet, on a three-day official visit in Minsk, encouraged the government in Belarus to support NGOs working on protecting and assisting child victims of trafficking. "In Belarus there are around twenty NGOs, and they need financial support from the state", said Biaudet upon arrival in Minsk.

The OSCE Office in Minsk told the Interfax news agency that Eva Biadut was scheduled to meet with Belarus's Foreign Minister Syarhey Martynau, Interior Minister Uladzimir Navumau, lawmakers and NGOs. She will also take part in the international conference on fighitng violence against children, will launch the films titled "Cinema Against Human Trafficking", sponsored by the OSCE Office in Minsk. Biadut will also visit the International Migration Center.
