Opposition members "assault" Ministry of Internal Affairs and General Office of Public Prosecutor in Minsk

The leader of the UCP Anatol Lyabedzka, a member of BNF Yury Karetnikau, a member of the initiative “European Belarus” Pavel Kuryanovcih and Zmitser Dashkevich, the leader of “Malady Front” registered in Czechia, have presented their written demand to liquidate the list of people forbidden to leave the country for political reasons to the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the General Office of the Public Prosecutor.
At first they approached the building of the Ministry of Internal Affaires. They had plates with inscriptions “Political prisoner #1”, “Political prisoner #2”, ect. on them. But policemen did not let them in and even pushed them off the threshold.

Then opposition members went to the General Office of the Public Prosecutor and had to resist the security who behaved in a rather severe way. Lyabedzka and Dashkevich managed to enter the building. They presented their appeal to the deputy head of the department for communication with citizens Mihail Vavula.

After presenting a copy of the appeal to the Embassy of France presiding in the EU now (addressed to the EU foreign affairs commissioner Xavier Solana) the opposition members returned to the building of the Ministry of Foreign Affaires. Their appeal was accepted that time, reports “Nasha Niva”.
